Ask people to back you

Tell people what you need and why. Some will give it to you, some will lend it, and some will lend it for less than they could earn elsewhere. You will not know which, and neither will they.

Donations do not need to be repaid. Any money lent to you will be repaid according to your loan agreement.

Applying does not mean you will be approved. Before lending can be enabled, Lendfolk checks whether borrowing appears affordable and assesses your creditworthiness.

What you can ask for

£100 to £5,000, for something specific you can explain.

Repayment terms

12, 18, 24 or 36 months, chosen when you apply.

Maximum APR

8.9%. This is the rate you are assessed on and the one to plan around. Donations and lower-return lending may bring your final cost below it.

What you repay

Only the money that was lent. Donations are not repaid.

What it costs to apply

Nothing. Creating a page and being assessed are free, and there is no separate platform fee on top of your APR.
